Richard H. Bodily ~ November 15, 1939 - September 18, 2015
'A Celebration of Life' Richard H. Bodily, 75, died Friday, Sept. 18, 20 1 5, in Logan, Utah. He was born Nov. 15, 1939, to Lawrence Cole Bodily a n d Mary Henderson Bodily and was raised in Whitney, Idaho, on the famil y f arm.
He served a mission for the LDS Church in the Northwestern States. Aft e r his mission he enrolled in the military and served in the National Gu ar d during the Vietnam War. Richard attended BYU where he studied electr oni cs and became a true BYU fan. He was employed at Logan Regional Hospi ta l as an electronic technician until he retired in 2009.
Richard loved to learn. Science and history were his favorite topics, a n d he tried to pass this knowledge onto his grandchildren. He would sa y al most daily, "I have learned something new today." Richard also love d ar t and has done many paintings in oils, pencil and charcoal. He als o love d dancing, and that is where he met Deanna Fairbourn, his love an d eterna l companion.
They have three children. Scott (Andrea) Bodily, Charlene (Clint) Macka y , Ryan (Jennifer) Bodily. Seven grandchildren, Kaden, Amber, Kaleb, Con ne r, Cole, Airika and Tate. Richard is survived by two brothers and a si ste r. Robert (Christine) Bodily, Gordon (Lynette) Bodily, Karen (Ray) Th omps on and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his pare nts L awrence and Mary Bodily, a brother Merlin, and a sister Arlene.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, 201 5 i n the Foothill 2nd Ward Chapel, 1450 E. 1500 North, North Logan, Uta h . A viewing for family and friends will be Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, fr o m 6 to 8 p.m. at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center Street in Logan , U tah, and 10 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to services. Condolences m ay b e sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
