  Obituary: SHELLEY -- Dorothy Mae Downs, 76, of Shelley, died June 1, 2008, at he r h ome. She was born March 1, 1932, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Norman Fryer a n d Flora Duncan Fryer. She attended schools in Hamer, Idaho. She married Jesse Gale Downs on April 13, 1949, in Roberts. Their marria g e was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She drove the school b u s in Hamer for many years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Chri s t of Latter-day Saints. She served as Sunday school teacher and camp di re ctor in the Rigby Stake. Dorothy enjoyed dancing, crocheting, quilting , c ooking, traveling throughout the U.S. and Alaska and flower gardening . Survivors include her husband; children, Sherry Hope, Glenda Downs, Conn i e Downs and Julie Conrad, all of Idaho Falls, and Farrel Downs of Hame r ; siblings, LaRae Peacok of Idaho Falls and Harry Rawson of St. Anthon y ; 19 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in dea t h by her parents, two brothers, three sisters, one son and one great-gr an dson. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at Nalder Funer a l H o me, 110 W. Oak St. in Shelley. The family will visit with friend s f rom 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday and from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Satur day , both at Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley.
