- William Henry Evans was a salesman, a journal writer, and I don't t h i n k I ever saw him wearing anything but a suit. When I was young h e h a d a b usiness in Oakland with a small warehouse. I remember playin g wi t h the ad ding machine and walking over the small bridge that cross ed t h e creek nex t to his warehouse. He was a loving grandfather and es pecia ll y loved hi s posterity.
