Grant was reburied in Douglas, AZ 4 years after he was killed in actio n i n France. Family does not know original burial date. !Grant died nea r Lab eauville, France on 15 September 1944. His mother, Beulah, inquire d fro m War Department of his death. Telegram dated 4 June 1945 said he w as kil led in action by a jeep overturning on top of him. Happened day be fore th e Battle of the Bulge. Grant's body was exhumed in France and shi pped o n November 5, 1948 and arrived in Douglas on November 9, 1948. Ser vices w ere held on November 11, 1948 at 3:00 pm at the Calvary Cemeter y in Dougl as, Cochise, Arizona. (Telegrams and letters in possession o f Mariana Fra ncis, Scottsdale, Arizona.) Telephone conversation with Mar iana Francis o n May 30, 1997. She read telegram/letters to me over the t elephone.
