- Obituary:
Mrs. Erma Grace Wilcox Hobbs, 80, died at the family home in Linrose Fri d ay night after an extended illness.
She was born in Salt Lake City 14 January 1883 to George A and Marian Te r rell Wilcox. She married John S Hobbs 28 September 1904 in The Logan Te mp le and had resided in Linrose for the past 46 years.
Always active in church work, she had served as Primary President for fo u r years and 14 years as Relief Society President and had been a membe r o f the Singing Mothers.
Surviving are her husband; eight sons and daughters; Mrs. Curtis (Grac e ) Armstrong of Arimo, Mrs. Norvin (Georgia) Youngren of Kearns, J Lesli e , Raymond R and Roland W of Weston, Eldon of Dayton, Mrs. Parley (Dori s ) Gunnell of Weston and Mrs. Clyde (Erma) Jenson of Pocatello; 36 grand ch ildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Ella Foster of E l Pas o, Texas, Mrs. Mable Evans and Mrs. Ina Baliff of Logan; five hal f brothe rs and half sisters, Walter Wilcox of Huntington Park, Californi a, Irvin g of Ogden, William of Provo, Mrs. Lila Webb of Hollywood, Calif ornia an d Mrs. Bernice Coleman of Smithfield.
Services for Mrs. Hobbs were conducted by Bishop Perth Poulsen of the Li n rose Ward in the Franklin Stake House on August 13.
Prayer at the mortuary was given by E Norvin Youngren. Speakers at the s e rvice include Mrs. Margaret Hobbs, Bishop Poulsen, Milo Hobbs, Willia m Ev ans Jr and H R Bingham. Musical numbers included prelude and postlud e b y Mrs. Orval Benson, a solo by Elda Carlson, a solo by Reed Armstron g , a chorus composed of granddaughters and a song by the Singing Mothers .
The grave in the Preston Cemetery was dedicated by Parley Gunnell. Pal l b ears included Edwin Hobbs, Kent Hobbs, Dennis Hobbs, Morus Gunnell, L arr y Armstrong, Blair Jenson, all grandsons.
