- Obituary:
Orangeville - Owen Dale Price, 93, died May 12, 2007, in Price, Utah o f c omplications from pneumonia. He was born April 17, 1914 in Clawson, U ta h to William Henry Price and Lydia Jane Metcalf. He married Glenna Ama nd a Cox on Nov. 26, 1938. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Sal t L ake Temple.
Owen attended schools in Clawson and Ferron. He was a member of the CCC ' s and enjoyed the association with the members for many years. He proud l y served his country in the European Theater in World War II. He owne d an d operated Owen D. Price Construction for many years and built man y of th e existing roads and structures throughout Emery and Carbon Count ies, inc luding many of the roads to the uranium mines in Southeastern Ut ah.
He was an active member of the Emery County Historical Society and al s o a member of the American Legion. He was very knowledgeable of the Sa n R afael Swell, Nine Mile and Range Creek areas, and he loved sharing hi s kn owledge of these places with others. His favorite place to be was o n th e desert with his wife, his horses, and his dogs.
He is survived by son, David Owen, Castle Dale, daughters, Connie (Joh n ) Wickman, and Kathy (Royal) Ockey, both of Orangeville; nine grandchil dr en, and many great-grandchildren; brother, Daniel Price, Wellington; s ist er, Dora Fautin, Lindon; brother-in-law, Merrill (Elaine) Cox, Provo ; sis ter-in-law Diana Cox, Price. Preceded in death by wife, Glenna, dau ghter , Patricia Huntington, four sisters, and six brothers.
Graveside services will be held Wed. May 16, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Ferron C i ty Cemetery. Visitation will be Tues. May 15 from 6-8 p.m. at Fausett M or tuary in Castle Dale. Interment will be held in the Ferron City Cemete ry , under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
