    • Obituary:
      Ruth W. Skinner, 85, was born in Tooele, Utah December 6, 1932, died Jan u ary 2, 2018 at the
      Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.

      Ruth was the youngest of four children born to Malcolm Asa Walters and H a zel Agnes Parkinson (Bryan). She graduated from Roosevelt High School a n d from the LDS Seminary. For four and a half years she worked for Dr. D on ald G. Mantyla as a dental assistant in Roosevelt, Utah.

      She met her husband, Rulon, on a blind date arranged by her Stake Presid e nt that lead to their marriage in the Salt Lake Temple on February 23,1 95 6.

      They have five children: Kumen (Spanish Fork, Utah); Diane Holmes (Kenne t h) Orem, Utah; Susan Johnson (Doug) Temecula, California; Maria Dunn (P at rick) Hobbs, New Mexico; and Cheryl Ann Edler (Blake) Provo, Utah.

      She was active in the LDS Church serving in various positions in Young W o men’s, Primary, and Relief Society. Most recently she enjoyed her servi c e as Visiting Teacher Supervisor in her ward. She and her husband serv e d three missions for the LDS Church: two at the Provo MTC and one in t h e Grandview 20th Ward (Spanish Speaking). She faithfully and lovingly s up ported her husband in all of his church service.

      Ruth was an excellent homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and preparing beaut i ful dinners for family and friends. She loved owning beautiful things a n d would decorate her home in a warm inviting way, allowing all that ent er ed her home, to feel like family. Everything that she touched was fill e d with beauty, whether it was her needlepoint, canning, decorating he r ho me for the holidays, or visiting with family and friends.

      Her smile warmed the heart of everyone who met her and her positive atti t ude never left her in spite of her years of pain. A dear friend said i t p erfectly, “she had a precocious twinkle in her eyes” that invited u s in t o her loving heart. She continued to bring happiness into the live s of ev eryone, even to the very end.

      She is survived by her husband, her children and their spouses, 14 grand c hildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her p ar ents, sister, and two brothers.

      Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 8th, at 11:00 am, at the G r andview Stake Center, 1122 Grand Avenue, Provo, Utah, where Viewings wi l l be held Sunday, January 7th form 6:30 to 8:00 pm and prior to servic e s on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Interment in Provo City Cemetery.
