- Obituary:
Nina Stevens, 91, longtime Baker City resident, died at her home on Mond a y, January 18, 2016. A private family celebration of Nina's life wil l b e held at a later date.
Nina was born on October 19, 1924 in Meadow, Utah to William and Sarah L a brum. She was the youngest of six children .
On May 15, 1947 she married Edwin "Ed" Stevens. They made their first ho m e in Holden, Utah where they raised horses and cattle. It was in Utah w he re daughter Eris was born. Then in 1964 the family moved to Moses Lake , W ashington where Ed went to work with his cousin's cattle operation. Y ear s later, in 1977, the family then moved to Baker City when Ed accept e d a job as a herdsman for Harrell Hereford Ranch. During most all of Ni na 's life she was a housewife, Mother, Grandmother .
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 66 years Ed a n d all of her siblings.
Nina is survived by her daughter Eris and her husband Ray Merritt of Bak e r City; grandsons Justin Merritt and wife Candice of Baker City, Rober t a nd Haylee Merritt of Baker City, great-grandchildren McKinley and Mac kenz ie numerous nieces and nephews.
