As you will note from my book on Capt. John and family that Samuel was i n deed a most enterprising fellow. Currie was his son-in-law.

Vol. III:206-7 7 Mar 1671 Deed of sale. Stephen Paine of Rehoboth sol d t o Samuel Whipple three house lots, with a dwelling house, and all o f th e out housing standing upon the lots, which Stephen Paine purchase d fro m Mary Mowry, executor of the estate of her deceased husband Roge r Mowry . One lot originally belonged to Daniel Comstock, one to John Smi th, an d one to Richard Prey, all of Providence. Also one right of common ing, on e 25 acre right of commoning both reaching westward as the seve n mile lin e. [Rec. 21 Sep 1671]
Vol VIII: 68 27 Jan 1678 Samuel Comstock requested the town lay ou t l a n d which remains due to him of his father's right which he bough t fro m John Smith. Samuel Whipple objected. The council suspended an ans wer un til 10 Feb. On that date they decided against Samuel Comstock.
Vol VIII: 94 17 Apr 1681 Granted to Samuel Whipple with permission of h i s father-in-law Thomas Harris, that he should have a piece of ground 4 0 f oot square and the privilege of a wharf within his father-in-law's lo ts.
