- Obituary:
Salt Lake City, UT-Paul Stott, 95, passed away Sept. 6, 2013. He was bo r n March 6, 1918 to William and Arlie Grant Stott in Duchene, Utah. He g re w up in the Uinta Basin and graduated from Roosevelt High School. Pau l sp ent time in the CCC Camp in the Soapstone Area. He joined the Army a nd sp ent time in North Africa and the Mediterranean area. He was honorab ly dis charged Dec. 2, 1945.
Paul married Rose Newbold December 1, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. Pa u l was an active member of the LDS Church and faithfully served in man y ca llings.
He spent 25 years as a Service Station Operator and Mechanic. He attend e d the U of U and graduated with a degree in English Literature at the a g e of 71. Paul and Rose spent ten wonderful years managing the PMAA Poli c e Target Range and then he was a substitute teacher well into his 80's.
Paul lived life energetically, always making friends and lifting other s . He was a wonderful husband and father and will be missed by those wh o k now him.
Paul is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rose; his children Larry (Caro l ) Stott, Mary (Jeff) Bernard, and Gayle (Dale) Hampton; 12 Grandchildr e n and 22 Great Grandchildren; sisters, June Hayden and Vera Millet. H e i s preceded in death by his father and mother; brothers, Grant, Glen , Mark , Luke, Arden and Frank; and sister, Ruth Holmes.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, September 12, 201 3 a t Mt. View Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South. A viewing will be held a t th e same location prior to services from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Online condol ence s www.memorialutah.com
