- Obituary:
Sharon Kaye Duncan Hebdon, 72, hopped in the truck with her youngest s o n and she left this life on Tuesday, July 5, 2016.
She was born March 25, 1944 in Pasa Robles, California to William Kenne t h and Gwendolyn Whatcott Duncan. She was the oldest of three children . Sh erie grew up in the Orem/Provo area and graduated from Orem High Sch ool a nd LDS Seminary in 1962. She worked as an information operator fo r Mounta in Bell Telephone.
Sherie married her junior high sweetheart, Randy I. Hebdon on November 1 3 , 1964 and was later sealed in the Ogden Temple May 1974. After their m ar riage they moved to California and welcomed their first daughter. Upo n mo ving back to Utah, they added three more children to their family. S heri e also took a job at Hill Air Force Base in data processing. Randy a nd Sh erie made their home in Sunset, Utah where they resided at the tim e of he r death.
Sherie was a very patient, accepting and loving person. She welcomed s o m any people into her home and all were accepted for who they were. Wit h Ra ndy being a long haul truck driver, Sherie embraced the role of a tr ucker 's wife and with it instilled a love of traveling in her children.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints an d s erved as both Primary and Relief Society President, Primary and Relie f So ciety teacher and a Visiting Teaching Supervisor. Sherie served as P TA Pr esident the same time she was pregnant with her youngest son. She w as ver y proud of this fact.
Mom was always available for 3am phone calls with a listening ear, or re a dy to share new music she had found. She supported her children in eve r y aspect of their lives, going to great lengths to make sure they kne w ho w much she loved and cared for each of them. Sherie loved animals, t ravel ing with her husband and had a great love for music and reading. I t had a lways been her dream to become a librarian.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Randy, her daughters, Shelly Stiffl e r (Rob) of Saratoga Springs, Utah; Andra (Ryan) Thorne of Clearfield, U ta h; one son, Sean Hebdon (Kodi Hendricks) of Sunset, Utah; and one sist er , Pat Patterson and her family of Springville, Utah. She is also survi ve d by her grandchildren, Wesley, Braden, Shaylee, RyLeigh, Duncan, Amyl ee , Kayden, Faith and Kira. She was preceded in death by her son, Ryan I . H ebdon, her brother, Gary Duncan and her parents .
The family would like to extend a special thank you to dear friend, Shau n a Hill, and her 'adopted' children Kevin and Cheri Gilbert, Jared Wals h a nd Jerry Byington.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 11 a.m. at t h e Sunset LDS 3rd Ward, 338 W. 1800 N., Sunset. Friends and family may c al l on Sunday at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West from 6 to 8 p. m . and Monday at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services .
Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
