    Shirley Anderson Benson, Bush, Madsen, 85, of Idaho Falls, passed away S a turday, August 8, 2015, at her home at Lincoln Court of natural causes . S he was under the care of Alliance Home Health and Hospice.

    She was born August 17, 1929, in Menan, Idaho, the daughter of Clifton A n derson and Ruth Buck Anderson. She grew up and attended school in Ameri ca n Falls. In 1947, she graduated from American Falls High School.

    On June 16, 1947, she married Harold Eames Benson. Their marriage was pe r formed by Ezra Taft Benson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Harold passed a wa y July 20, 1948. On November 1, 1956, she married William “Bill” Bush . H e passed away January 7, 1976. On September 16, 1989, she married Mil to n C. Madsen in Idaho Falls. He passed away January 8, 1999.

    She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints whe r e she served in the ward and stake Sunday school, ward Primary, Relie f So ciety and Mutual Improvement Association now known as the Young Wome n’s o rganization. She and her husband, Milton served in the Tennessee Ke ntuck y Mission for two years from 1990-1992.

    Shirley sang in many programs, and directed musical programs at Lincol n C ourt.

    She worked as the manager of Orange Julius in the Country Club Mall, a n d owned and operated Shirley’s Country Crafts and Wedding Catering busi ne ss.

    Her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, and homemaker.

    A statement from Shirley concerning her testimony: “My testimony is stro n g and healthy. . . I am at peace with My Father in Heaven. I thank Hi m fo r all that I have . . . and that is a lot!”

    She is survived by the following:
    Sons: Scott (Connie) Bush of Ogden, UT; T. Shane (Peggy) Bush of Idaho F a lls; and Brian V. (Janet) Bush of Shelley; daughters: Shannon C. (Brook s ) Clements of Pasco, WA and Melodee D. (Curt) Mueller of Rexburg; daugh te r’s-in-law; Teresa (Bill, deceased) Bush and Lisa (Galen, deceased) Bu s h both of Idaho Falls; a sister, Sharon (Ron) Felsted of Idaho Falls , 2 6 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.

    Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Veda, Marian an d K athleen; a brother, Larry Anderson; husbands: Milton C. Madsen, Willi am F . Bush, Harold E. Benson; daughters: Linda Benson Gilbert and Gina M ichel le Bush; sons: Bill and Galen.

    Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Co l trin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, Idaho. The family will vis i t with friends one hour prior to the services at the mortuary. Burial w il l be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

    Linda Gilbert, 52, of Idaho Falls and Blackfoot, died Sept. 14, 2000 , a t the Good Samaritan Care Center in Idaho Falls following a lingerin g ill ness. She was born March 10, 1948, in American Falls, Idaho, to Har old Ea mes and Shirley Anderson Benson. She moved to Idaho Falls, where s he gre w up and attended schools. She graduated from Bonneville High Scho ol. O n Nov. 8, 1969, she married Earl Gilbert in the Idaho Falls LDS Tem ple. S he worked for three years at the Riverview Nursing Home. She wa s a membe r of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where sh e served a s a nursery leader and as a visiting teacher. She was a membe r of the Goo d Sam Club, and enjoyed camping, crocheting, and doing puzzl es. She love d her family and family get-together' s; they were her top p riority. Surv ivors include her husband, Earl Gilbert of Blackfoot; her m other, Shirle y Bush Madsen of Idaho Falls; two sisters, Shannon (Brooks ) Clements of I daho Falls, and Melodie (Curt) Mueller of Rexburg; five b rothers, Scott ( Connie) Bush of Ogden, Utah, Bill B.     William Brent “Bill” Bush, 57, of Idaho Falls, died of a heart attack, S u nday, July 26, 2015, surrounded by family and friends at Redfish Lake , hi s favorite place on earth, near Stanley, Idaho.

    Bill was born August 9, 1957, to William Frank Bush and Shirley Anders o n Bush. He grew up in the Idaho Falls area. He was second oldest in a l ar ge family of eight children and graduated from Bonneville High Schoo l i n 1975. Bill also graduated from School of Hard Knocks obtaining a “P hD , if you ask me”!

    Following high school, Bill served a mission for the Church of Jesus Chr i st of Latter-day Saints in Sevilla, Spain. He also served as scoutmaste r , pianist, Sunday school teacher, executive secretary and numerous oth e r callings. At the time of his death, he served as second counselor i n th e Iona 7th Ward Bishopric.

    He married Teresa Crook, August 10, 1979, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

    After working in various sales positions, he started an insurance agenc y , which he ran for more than 30 years.

    Bill enjoyed playing the piano and the keyboard in bands, woodworking, h o me improvement, motorcycling, camping and his family. He was perfect i n a ll that truly mattered. Bill was a fierce protector of his family, ye t h e lived to make others happy and laugh.

    Bill would never want others to mourn too long, but celebrate his life a n d pay it forward by making others laugh … and do the chicken dance!

    Survivors include his wife Teresa Bush of Idaho Falls; sons, Billy (Tony a ) of Salt Lake City, UT, Jordan (Lindsey) of Idaho Falls, and Chase (cu rr ently serving the LDS church in the Brazil Sao Paulo East Mission); hi s m other, Shirley Bush Madsen; siblings, Scott (Connie) Bush of Ogden, U T, S hannon (Brooks) Clements of Pasco, WA, Melodee (Curt) Mueller of Rex burg , Shane (Peggy) Bush of Idaho Falls, and Brian (Janet) Bush of Shell ey; g randsons, Camden, 5, Hendrix, 2, and Hank, 1; and many close friend s an d family members.

    Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Frank Bush; sisters, L i nda Benson Gilbert and Gina Michelle Bush; and his brother, Galen Shaw n B ush.

    Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Iona LDS 7th Ch a pel, 1040 N. Crimson Dr. in Idaho Falls with Bishop Richard Williamso n of ficiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., We dnesd ay at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 1st St. Idaho Falls, and from 10 a.m . to 10: 45 a.m., prior to the service at the church. Interment will foll ow in th e Iona Cemetery.

    Galen Shawn Bush, 44, of Idaho Falls, passed away Saturday, Jan. 14, 201 2 , at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls of natural ca us es.
    Galen was born Jan. 19, 1967, in Idaho Falls. He was the youngest of eig h t children to Bill F. Bush and Shirley Bush Madsen. He grew up in Idah o F alls and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1985.

    He served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-d a y Saints, speaking Cantonese in the Toronto Canada Mission. After his m is sion, he worked in the pineapple fields in Hawaii. He attended Ricks C oll ege and graduated with an associate's degree in computer informatio n syst ems. He also attended Idaho State University.

    While at Ricks, Galen met the love of his life, Lisa Kay West. They marr i ed Aug. 18, 1989, in the Washington D.C. LDS Temple. They lived in Rexb ur g, Rigby and Idaho Falls.

    He worked at AMX Technologies in Idaho Falls and, at the time of his dea t h, was a realtor for Keller-Williams Realty.

    He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serv i ng in the Primary, Elders' Quorum, Sunday School presidency, as a Gosp e l Doctrine teacher and most recently in the Young Men's organization.

    He enjoyed camping, riding motorcycles, fishing, bicycling, skiing, snow m obiling and spending time with his wife and four sons. He was very musi ca lly talented. He had a great singing voice, played the drums by ear an d b elonged to multiple bands. He was a jack of all trades and could fi x anyt hing. Galen had an incredible sense of humor and an outgoing perso nality . He made friends where ever he went and had a daily goal of makin g peopl e laugh.

    Galen is survived by his wife, Lisa of Idaho Falls; sons, Taylor, Cade n , Andrew and Cole, all of Idaho Falls; mother, Shirley of Idaho Falls ; si blings, Scott (Connie) Bush of Ogden, Utah, Bill (Teresa) Bush of Id aho F alls, Shannon (Brooks) Clements of Pasco, Wash., Melodee (Curt) Mue ller o f Rexburg, Shane (Peggy) Bush of Idaho Falls and Brian (Janet) Bus h of Sh elley; in-laws, Lee and Kay West of Clinton, N.C.; Beth (Paul) Bo rup of E vans, Ga., Walt (Heleena) West of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., John (Am anda) Wes t of Syracuse, Utah, Ashley (Jason) Pratt of Chapel Hill, N.C. , Nick Wes t of Clinton, Tiffiani (Coulson) Goodwin of Pleasant Grove, Ut ah; and man y nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his father, William Frank Bush; sisters, Lin d a Gilbert and Gina Michelle Bush; and brother-in-law, Earl Gilbert.

    A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at the Cloverdale L D S Church, 1040 Crimson Drive, in Idaho Falls. The family will receive f ri ends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Coltrin Mortuary , 21 00 First St. in Idaho Falls, and from noon to 12:40 p.m. prior to th e fun eral at the church. Interment will be at Iona Cemetery following th e fune ral.
