David W. Ballif, 77, Electrician, member of IBEW #354

David W. Ballif, 77, of Sheffield Lake died Saturday, February 28, 200 4 a t Community Health Partners West in Lorain following a brief illness.

Mr. Ballif was born in Provo, Utah and has been a resident of Lorain Cou n ty for the past 35 years.

He served in the U.S. Army and the Air Force Reserve.

He worked as an electrician and was a member of the IBEW Local 354 for t h e past 39 years.

Mr. Ballif was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Sain t s Church in Lorain.

Survivors include his wife Jessie Marian (nee Workman); daughter Ingri d C hristine Rico of Elyria; son Kurt David Ballif of Texas; 10 grandchil dren ; brothers Serge Lyman of Hooper, Utah, Richard Terrill of Preston , Idaho , Don Robert Ballif of Bountiful, Utah; sisters Yvonne Marion Kni ghton o f Clearfield, Utah, Joanne Cottrell and Florine Durharn both of S t. Georg e, Utah, and Ina Rae Knighton of Forest Grove, Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Ingrid Marie; son Frank Lou i s Ballif; grandson Christopher David Rico and parents Serge Chadwick Ba ll if and Ina Terrill (nee Wilcox).

Friends may call 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. Wednes d ay at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3501 Kolbe Rd, L or ain. Bishop Scott Engstrom will officiate.

Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery in Logan, Utah.

David married Ingrid Marie Ragnhild Kretzschmar on 23 Jul 1952 in Wiesbaden, Darmstadt, Hessen, Deutschland. Ingrid (daughter of Kurt Kretzschmar and Ragnhild Pedersen) was born on 16 Sep 1926 in Berlin, Berlin, Deutschland; died on 15 Mar 1965 in Las Vegas, Clark, Nevada, United States; was buried on 19 Mar 1965 in Logan City Cemetery, Cache, Utah, United States. David married Jessie Marian Workman on 5 Mar 1966 in St. George, Washington, Utah, United States. Jessie (daughter of Samuel Jesse Workman and Lovisa Allen) was born on 14 Apr 1932 in Manti, Sanpete, Utah, United States; died on 16 May 2005; was buried in Logan, Cache, Utah, United States. Frank L. Ballif February 2, 1963 - April 10, 2003 Frank L. Ballif, age 4 0 , died April 10, 2003 in Livermore after a motorcycle accident. A wonde rf ul husband and a beautiful person, Frank loved life and enjoyed ever y mom ent he could. He camped, boated, snowboarded, rode motocross bike s and mo torcycles with his family and friends. He was born February 2, 1 963 in La s Vegas, Nevada. Frank worked as an Air Traffic Control Special ist for th e Federal Aviation Administration for 12 years. A past membe r of the Diab lo Water Ski Club, and a member of the Church of Jesus Chri st of Latter-D ay Saints, Brentwood 3rd Ward. Frank is survived by his wi fe, Michellee B allif and 3 children, Frank Lou II, Cortnee and Chelsee , all of Discover y Bay. His parents, David and Marian Ballif of Sheffiel d Lake, Ohio; a si ster, Ingrid Christine Rico of Elyria, Ohio; and a bro ther, Kurt Ballif o f Conroe, Texas. Several nieces and nephews also surv ive. Frank was prece eded in death by his mother, Ingrid Marie Ragnhild B allif March 14, 196 5 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Visitation will be Tuesday, A pril 15, 2003, fro m 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Brentwood Funeral Home. Funera l will be Wednesday , April 16, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at 10: 00 a.m. at the Churc h of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, McClarren Rd . in Brentwood.
