    Evelyn Ballif Woodruff passed away January 16, 1995 in Salt Lake City.

    Born April 2, 1901 to Serge F. and Zelnora Angell Ballif. Married Wilfo r d Owen Woodruff June 20, 1923 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were la te r divorced.During her early childhood and again as a young lady, she s pen t a total of six years with her parents in Switzerland when her fathe r wa s twice president of the Swiss/German Mission for the LDS Church. Wh ile t here, she studied music and art and traveled extensively throughou t Europ e. She formed a great love for the Swiss people and German langua ge. In 1 920 she graduated from the Brigham Young Academy in Logan, Utah.

    She was a member of several art and social groups including Fine Arts a n d the Everlasting Study Group of Church History. Devoted member of th e LD S Church having served in many different capacities.

    For many years she was employed in the downtown Salt Lake City ZCMI sto r e and later served as head resident at Carlson Hall Women's Dormitory , Un iversity of Utah.

    In 1965 she moved to Menlo Park, California to be near her daughter Jacq u elyn and her family. She enjoyed the love and support of a wide circl e o f friends in Menlo Park. In 1993 she returned to Salt Lake City.

    Survivors: one daughter and three sons, Jacquelyn W. Clements and husba n d Dr. Blaine S. of Salt Lake City; Truman Owen (wife Lydia, deceased ) o f Mission Viejo, Calif.; Serge Ballif and wife Marilyn of Hemet, Cali f. ; Wilford Bruce and wife Elaine of Salt Lake City; 18 grandchildren, 5 6 g reat-grandchildren.

    Preceded in death by son, Nathan Howard (survived by wife Glenna); and a l l five of her brothers and sisters, Hazel, Fred, Leonard, Zelnora and R ac hel.

    Funeral services Wednesday, January 25, 1995, 10 a.m. at the East Mill C r eek 2nd Ward, 3750 South Hillside Lane (2500 East), Salt Lake City. Fri en ds and family may call at the church Wednesday, one hour prior to th e ser vices. Interment, Logan City Cemetery, 951 North 1200 East, Logan , Utah . Funeral directors, Larkin Mortuary.

    Evelyn married Wilford Owen Woodruff on 20 Jun 1923 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States, and was divorced.     Lois Turpin, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great - grandmother and friend passed away May 20, 1999 in Salt Lake City, Uta h a t age 91.

    Lois was born in Fillmore, Utah on July 15, 1907 to James William and Lo u ie Giles. On August 29, 1938 she married Randal L. Turpin in Monticell o , Utah. He preceded her in death June 20, 1956.

    She raised her children to be a large and close family. She shared the l o ve of out-doors and hunting with her family. Member of the LDS Church . Sh e had a great sense of humor, unconditional love and great sense o f adven ture. She was a great cook and truly loved all her children and g reat-gra ndchildren. Her talent in sewing and crocheting was unparalleled . She mad e wedding dresses for many of her children and grandchildren. S he was eve rybody's best friend. She wanted to experience everything lif e had to off er.

    Survived by: son, Randal J. (Marion) Turpin; four daughters, Lois (Keit h ) Martin, Camille (Ross) Bradshaw, Linda (Chris) Christensen, Jean (Ala n ) Sterzer; 20 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren, 12 great great-gra nd children; sister, Kathlyn Junker, brothers, Dell Frampton and Bertis F ram pton (Beth).     Truman Owen Woodruff, passed away April 13, 2007 at age 81, after a bri e f illness. Truman grew up in Salt Lake City, in a pioneer family . H e w a s the great grandson of Wilford Woodruff, the fourth presiden t of t he Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and also the grea t grandso n of Truman O. Angell, architect of the Salt Lake City Temple . He was th e son of Wilford Owen Woodruff and Evelyn Ballif Woodruff. Tr uman was a s cholar and a gentleman. In spite of an interruption of his e ducation to s erve in the US Navy during World War II, he graduated fro m Harvard Univer sity and Oxford University in England, he also graduate d Summa cum Laud e from California Institute of Technology with a PhD i n Physics. He wa s a Rhodes Scholar, a Howard Hughes, Fulbright, Dow Chem ical and Sheldo n traveling fellow. Truman was a Professor Emeritus of Mi chigan State aft er a long career as Professor and Chairman of the Physic s Department. H e was also a recipient of a Rockefellor Foundation gran t for research, th rough the Federal University of Minas Gerais. He spok e six languages, an d was a visiting Professor at Scuola Normale Superior e, in Pisa, Italy. H e was a fellow of the Am. Phys. Soc; and member of P hi Beta Kappa and Sig ma XI.

    Truman was married to Francesca Ambrosia Solaroli, until her death in 19 9 0. He is survived by two nephews, Paulo and Massimo of Rimini, Italy . A t age 70, he married Patricia O'Keefe Vincent, of Galt Ca. Although c hil d less during his first marriage, he immediately acquired four stepch ildr en, the late Pamela Wilson of Galt, Suzanne Hohsfield of Galt, Jenni fer D iamon of Ione and Joseph Vincent of Mission Viejo, Ca. He is also s urvive d by nine grandchildren, including Walker Truman Hohsfield, his na mesake.

    In spite of his many awards, he was most proud in his later years when t h e Lodi News Sentinal gave him a special award for his free tutoring o f lo cal students in science and math. He is also survived by his famil y in Ut ah which includes his sister, Jacqueline Clements, and brothers S erge Woo druff, and Wilford Bruce Woodruff. He was preceded in death by h is brothe r, Nathan H. Woodruff. Memorial services will be at 1:00pm Frid ay, Apri l 20, 2007 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints i n Galt, Ca . Mortuary services provided by Ben Salas. Burial will be in L ogan, Utah.

    Serge Ballif Woodruff passed away May 12, 2020 at home in Herriman, UT B o rn in Salt Lake City, UT March 20, 1929 to Wilford Owen Woodruff and Ev el yn Ballif Woodruff. Siblings Truman, Jacquelyn, Nathan, and Bruce. H e gra duated from East High. He served in the Eastern States Mission 1949 -195 0 of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was drafte d int o the US Army 1951 - 1953 – CIC, stationed in Philadelphia. He marr ied Ma rilyn Martin, October 7, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple and togethe r they r aised five children. They lived the philosophy that “eternity i s now.” H e graduated from the University of Utah, BA and MBA. They move d to Glenda le/La Crescenta, CA where he established a successful caree r in the banki ng/savings & loan business. He would say that “banking isn ’t about money ; it’s about people.” Along with his family, he prioritize d a life of ser vice in the Church; serving as a Bishop twice, Counselo r in two Stake Pre sidencies, Tennessee Nashville Mission President 199 0 - 1993, and Seale r in the Los Angeles and San Diego Temples. His consi stency and fidelit y to principle and faith were hallmarks of his great c haracter. After hi s wife passed in 1998, he married Marilynn Jones Maw i n 1999. They serve d two missions together in the Kona Hawaii Temple an d the Missionary Depa rtment. He then served many years as a Sealer in th e St. George temple. T hey both considered this the “dessert” portion o f life. Serge spent his l ife interested in other people, loved getting t o know people and was love d in return. Preceded in death by his wife Mar ilyn Martin Woodruff and da ughter, Wendy (Blaine) Kellogg. Survived by h is wife Marilynn Maw Woodruf f, sister Jacquelyn Clements, his brother Wi lford Bruce Woodruff, his chi ldren, Samuel M. (Cherri), Amy (Richard) Be rnard, Matthew M.
