Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed aw a y 27 May 2012 in Ogden, Utah, surrounded by family. She was 82 years ol d.
Yvonne was born 4 September 1929 in Preston, Idaho to Serge Chadwick a n d Ina Terrell Wilcox Ballif. She grew up in Logan, Utah in a large an d lo ving family.
She was an active member of the LDS Church. Yvonne attended Utah State U n iversity, then served an LDS Mission to the Canadian Mission. Later, i n 1 995 she also served a Family History Mission in Salt Lake City. She w as m arried to John Thomas Knighton in the Logan Temple in 1955, and wit h hi m raised 8 children, her greatest joy. Yvonne worked for many year s a s a Secretary for the Juvenile Court in Davis County. Yvonne's love f or m usic has filled her life with song by singing in various choirs, sex tets , and duets with her good friend Joyce Wilcox. She played the pian o or le d the music in the ward she attended for many years, and lastly w as the w ard organist. Yvonne's loving husband passed away almost 34 year s ago. Sh e was a dear and faithful mother to her family and she treasure d her tim e spent with them.
She is survived by her children Jeanette (Bryan) Stephens, John B (Vivie n ne) Knighton, Elden T (Shelley) Knighton, Alice (Brett) Miller, Pamel a (T erry) Nelson, Joyce (Brian) Wright, Judy (Ron) Rooks and Marianne (E ric ) Miller. Her posterity includes 36 grandchildren and 12 great-grandc hild ren, with 4 more yet to come this year. Yvonne is also survived b y a brot her Richard, and sisters Joanne and Ina Rae.
Funeral services will be held Friday 1 June 2012 at 11:00am at the Wes t P oint Stake Center 550 N 2300 W West Point, Utah. Viewing will be hel d Thu rsday May 31 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Myers Mortuary at 5865 S 19 00 W R oy, Utah; with an additional viewing 9:30 to 10:30am Friday at th e Stak e Center prior to the service. Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
