Patrick Claude Larter, PhD
1942 ~ 2015
Patrick Larter, 73, passed away peacefully July 9, 2015 after a severe s t roke. He was born July 1, 1942 in Salt Lake City to Clark C. and Hele n Hu ber Larter. Pat was a devoted son. He faithfully served in the Frenc h Eas t Mission from 1961-64. After his mission he Completed his educatio n culm inating in a PhD and served in government positions until retireme nt.
In 1970, Pat married Winnifred Macafee (sealed in the LA temple). They l a ter divorced. In 1982, he married Linda McAdam in the Oakland Temple. L in da passed away on January 23, 2014. Together they happily served in th e M ontana, Billings mission in 2013.
Patrick was a wonderful father, an avid scouter, genealogist, ham radi o o perator, gardener and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ o f Lat ter-day Saints. He also served for decades as a volunteer at the Jo seph S mith Memorial Building and the West Jordan Museum.
Patrick is survived by his sister Susan Brady Harkness (Tom), three daug h ters Wendy Meyers, Kristy Henderson, and Jennifer Larter, 10 grandchild re n, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. All of us wil l tru ly miss him.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 11:00 am at Je n kins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 South), So ut h Jordan, Utah, with a viewing from 10:00-10:50 am prior to the servic e . Interment at South Jordan City Cemetery.
