    • Obituary:
      Maxine Ruth Stout Barney, 88, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Ju l y 8, 2020 in South Jordan Utah. She was born January 29, 1932 on Fort E us tis Army Base in Newport News, Virginia. She married Nathan Barney, Ma y 2 4, 1948 in the Salt Lake City LDS temple. Maxine was a loving wife, m othe r, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister , and f riend. She brought laughter and smiles to all those she met, an d will con tinue to do so in all those who remember her. When she wasn’ t taking car e of her children and grandchildren, Maxine loved to spend h er days knitt ing, crocheting, and watching her favorite shows on TV. Sh e never misse d an episode of Days of Our Lives. She also never missed a n opportunity t o brag about the success of those she loved, whether it w as their schoo l plays, writing abilities, or a brand new grandchild to a dd to her lis t (yes, she loved to keep track, and be ready in case she n eeded to sho w off her growing family). Never afraid to speak her mind, M axine’s wit a nd humor will be missed, but never forgotten. She is surviv ed by her chil dren: Larry (Kaylene), Paul (Kathy), Carol (Bruce), Marily n (Phil), Sherr ie (Rick), and Steven. And her many, many, grandchildren . Her brothers: V aughn and Richard. She was Preceded in death by her hus band Nathan Barne y and her daughters Jeanette and Kathleen. Due to COVID -19 a small family -only graveside service will be held Monday July 13, 2 020 at 11 a.m. at V alley View Memorial Park.
