- Obituary:
On October 14, 2014, the world lost a beautiful, intelligent, loving, a n d eternally stubborn angel as DonaRae Liddle Bennett made the transiti o n to her next heavenly step. She was 39 years young (again, and again , an d again, She was the first of three generations of perpetual 39 yea r olds .)
DonaRae was born to Arthur and Marjorie Solomon Liddle on September 11 , 1 928 in Salt Lake City. She married Henrie Otto Robinson November 21 , 1948 , in Evanston Wyoming, later divorced. She then married the love o f her l ife, Max Howard Bennett, January 1, 1972 at her home in Kearns, U tah. Sh e was later Sealed to Max in the Salt Lake Temple.
Mom moved to Kearns in January 1954 and lived in the same home for almo s t 60 years.
Mom had a strong testimony of her Savior and was proud of the fact tha t e ach of her children has gone through the Temple and have been Seale d to t heir spouses. She loved going to the Temple and made it a habit o f goin g twice a week for many years, and aside from the last few months , rarel y missed an opportunity to attend the Temple. She combined her lo ve of tr avel and going to the Temple and had done Temple work in 34 diff erent Tem ples.
And Mom did love to travel. She went on a 12-day camping trip to the Pac i fic Northwest six months before she became bedridden. She had travele d t o 49 states and was anxiously waiting for someone to build a train (s he d isliked flying or traveling on water) that went to Hawaii so she cou ld la y claim to having visited all 50 states.
DonaRae had a love of learning and reading. She worked for the Salt La k e County Library System for 32 years and developed many friendships whi l e working there. She also accumulated her own vast personal library, co ns isting mainly of books bought from the library. She also had a fascina tio n with things medical and had a not-so-secret longing to have bee n a surg eon’s assistant.
Mom is survived by, and very much missed by, her children: Bruce (Lynn ) R obinson, Janine (Ellsworth) Moon, Brian (Samantha) Bennett, Shannon ( Bri a n) Lytle; her step-daughter Karen (Ron) Ketterer; sisters Sharon (Q u in n) Spencer and Linda (Ross) Farrer. Two furry children, Nubbin, an d Bill y also survive mom. To count grandchildren and great-grandchildre n woul d be like trying to count the falling grains of sand in a sand clo ck. An d each and every one was her favorite!
She was pre-deceased by 2 daughters; Gayle Ann Winward, and Claudia Mill s , her son in law Gaylon Winward, her sister and brother in law, Marjor i e (Lynn) Howarth, brother in law Richard Mears, step-son Michael Bennet t , both husbands, and her parents. What a joyful reunion is taking place !
Thanks to Nelda and Ruth for their regular visits with Mom. Your devot e d friendship meant a lot to her.
And a special thanks to Summit Hospice, and especially Mary and Andrea , f or the loving care they provided this past year and a half. Mom love d yo u and very much appreciated the special care you gave to her.
Funeral services will be held October 18, 2014, at the Kearns 16th War d L DS chapel, 4200 West 4715 So., Kearns, at 11:00 AM. A viewing will b e hel d one hour prior to the services and also on Friday, 6:00-8:00 PM a t th e same LDS chapel.
