- Obituary:
Lucille was born to Harold Roe, and Kate Wade in Salt Lake City Utah. Lu c ille was married to Donald Arthur Childs (Deceased) December 6, 1943, T he y were later sealed together with their children in the Salt Lake Cit y Te mple.
Donald and Lucille had 9 children, Diane A. Hamilton (Tom), D. Paul (Dix i e), Elaine Harman (Wynn), Lydia V. Hone (Jess), Nathaniel J. (Miriam) , I . Louise Wilcox (Tim), Jeneal Lindemen. She was preceded in death b y he r Husband Donald Arthur, and her children Lorin P, (Goldie, Living ) and A nnette Foulger. (Scott, Living) Lucille has a host of Grand child ren, Gre at Grand children, and Great Great Grand children, but was Grand ma to man y others who’s parents knew her as Lucille, but their childre n knew her a s Grandma Lucille. She loved them all!
Lucille died peacefully at home in Taylorsville after being diagnosed wi t h Alzheimer’s, and Dementia. Thank you to the care givers from Signatu r e home Health and Hospice for their wonderful care of Lucille and suppo r t for her family.
Lucille was a home maker. As her children got older she worked for the s t ate of Utah, from which she retired, she did child care after retiremen t , (That’s where all of those non direct descendent grand children cam e fr om). She loved to sew until her hands wouldn’t allow it, then she st arte d doing hook rugs, which she truly enjoyed.
Lucille was a life time member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-d a y Saints; she served in the Primary as a teacher, in the Relief Societ y p residency, and as a Stake Missionary. She was busy with children of h er o wn when serving in the primary. She frequently related how much sh e love d serving in the Relief Society, and as a Missionary.
A viewing will be held at McDougal Funeral Home in Taylorsville, Uta h o n Wednesday April 7, 2021 for family and close friends. In lieu of fl ower s please make a contribution to the charity of your choice.
