Ruth Wood King 1920 ~ 2010 Ruth Wood King, beloved wife, mother, grandmo t her, sister and friend, left this world peacefully on Tuesday, March 3 0 , 2010 in Ephraim, Utah at age 89.
Ruth was born in Spanish Fork on September 17, 1920 to Jenettie Stewar t W ood and James Morris Wood. She married Samuel Arthur King on Septembe r 27 , 1939 in the Manti Temple and recently celebrated their 70th weddin g ann iversary. Art and Ruth have four daughters: Ruth Diane King (Ron) , Kath y King Frischknecht (Steve), Judy King Larsen (Ned), and Peggy Kin g Kooym an (Keith). Ruth took great pride in her daughters and their acco mplishme nts, and was a devoted companion to her husband, Art. Ruth was k nown fo r her beautiful flower gardens, quilts, and was a wonderful homem aker. Sh e loved music, and could play the piano by ear.
Ruth is survived by her loving and caring husband, Art; four daughters ; 1 5 grandchildren; 39 great-grand-Children; four great-great-grand-chil dren ; and sister, Ellen Wood Koser.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Violet Larsen , D orthella Dunkley, Florence Shepherd, three brothers, Eugene, Earl, an d De an, and a young sibling. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Ap ril 2 nd at Noon at the Ephraim 3rd Ward, 400 East Center. Viewings wil l be hel d at the same location on Thursday 6-8 p.m. and prior to the ser vices o n Friday at 10:30-11:3 0 a.m. Interment will be at the Ephraim Ci ty Cemet ery following the services.
