Randy passed away on January 23, 2020 at his home surrounded by his fami l y.
Randy was born on November 18, 1942 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Eldon I a n d Fontell Clifford Hebdon. Following the death of Eldon in WWII, he wa s r aised by his mother and step father, Don C Messervy. He lived in Idah o Fa lls, Orem, Brigham City, Ogden, and Sunset, Ut. He graduated from Bo x Eld er High School.
He served an LDS Mission in Northwestern States Mission 1962-1964. Upo n h is return he married Sharon Kaye Duncan, Nov 13, 1964 in Orem Utah, t he y were sealed in the Ogden Temple May 4, 1974.
Randy was a professional truck driver for over 40 years and enjoyed part i cipating in semi-truck rodeo’s and truck shows. He also assisted with t h e Drivers Ed Program in the area High Schools teaching student’s safet y a round semi-trucks. His joy was watching two sons and a nephew followi ng i n his footsteps of truck driving. After retiring from truck driving , he f inished up his career as a Pilot Car driver.
He was a member of the Ogden 15th ward and later the Sunset 3rd and 7 t h wards. He served as a Sunday School President and most recently a ho m e teacher. He has a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ an d sh ared it numerous times during his driving career.
Randy is survived by his children: Shelly (Rob) Stiffler-Saratoga Spring s , Sean (Kodi Hendricks) Hebdon, Sunset, Andra (Ryan) Thorne - Clearfiel d . Grandkids: Braden and Kemauri Hebdon, RyLeigh, Duncan, Amylee Thorne , K ayden, Annie, Faith, Kira Hendricks. Two Great-grandchildren Jonas an d Ho lly. 1 nephew and 1 niece Dan Norris and Cindy Norris, Serria Vista , Az.
Preceded in death by his wife Sharon, son Ryan I and his parents, a sist e r Sandra and brother-in-law Paul.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, January 28, 20 2 0 at the Syracuse City Cemetery. A viewing will be held prior at 10:0 0 -1 1:00 AM at Myers Mortuary 5865 S 1900 W Roy, Utah.
