Sandy, UT –Floris Duncan Haile passed away peacefully on November 29, 20 1 9 in Sandy, Utah. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Floyd E. Dunc a n and Edna Bennett Duncan.
Floris was the oldest of four children her sisters are Dayle Duncan Whi t e (Clyde), Anna Jo Wayne (John), Edna Ruth Hilton (Keith. Floris is sur vi ved by her 2 daughters Lia Haile (son: Anthony Haile) and Elizabeth Ha il e (children: Maylene Edna Martinez, Porfie Floyd Martinez, and Esperan z a Diane Martinez), and 5 great grandchildren. She is preceded in deat h b y her husband Alton Bertine Haile, father Floyd E. Duncan and mothe r Edn a Bennett Duncan.
Floris attended Hawthorne Elementary, Bryant Junior High and East High s c hool. After graduating from nursing school with a CNA, she worked i n a ca re center helping residents.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints an d s erved as a missionary in the Great Lakes Mission. After she returne d fro m her mission she met her husband Alton and they were married for a lmos t 40 years. Before he passed away they were sealed in the Jordan Riv er Te mple. She remained active until she passed away having a strong tes timon y and faith in her Savior Jesus Christ. She loved religious hymns a nd wou ld sing them in her mind as well as repeat her favorite scriptures .
Floris was a very kind person to all, and very forgiving. She was trul y t hankful to anyone that helped her in anyway. She made friends easil y wit h those that she met and was always cheerful even though she had ma ny str uggles in life. Her Branch President said that she would be trul y misse d in the Sandy Regional Care Center. The family would like to tha nk all t hose that served her in the care center for the past three years . She fou nd it enjoyable to be there and had friends and caregivers to a ssociate w ith.
Funeral services will be held December 4, 2019 at 11:00 am at Mountain V i ew Mortuary and Cemeteries, 3115 E Bengal Blvd, Cottonwood Heights, U T . A viewing will be held 30 minutes prior to the services, interment t o f ollow at Mountain View Cemetery.
