    • Obituary:
Clea Minerva Roylance Nelson, 89, peacefully returned to her Heavenly Fa t her on March 9, 2006, in Boise, Idaho. Born in Salem, Idaho on Decembe r 2 0, 1916, she was a cherished daughter of George Edmond Roylance and M abl e Clair Valentine.

A serious Child and a worrier from birth, Clea was the oldest of nine ch i ldren and lived on a farm. She learned her work ethic from her father a n d her mother, and learned how to make a meal out of nothing. Early in l if e, she dreamed of a future that was more than working in the fields an d w as thrilled to leave farm work and baby-tending behind to attend hig h sch ool in Rexburg, Idaho. Clea loved school and excelled at it, gradua ting w ith honors from Boise High School in 1935.

Clea met her future husband, Karl Giles Nelson, at a roller skating part y . They married for time and all eternity on July 7, 1936, in the Loga n Ut ah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Thei r marri age lasted for 60 years, until the passing of her beloved compani on in Fe bruary of 1997. They were proud of their four children Richard K arl (Rena ) Nelson, Steven Roylance (Madge) Nelson, Randall George (Jenny ) Nelson , and Janet (Greg) Ekeroth; and adored their twenty grandchildre n, and so on to include their fifty-seventh great-grandchild, and one gre at great-g randchild.

A devout and committed member of her church, Clea served faithfully in n u merous positions throughout her life. She was interested in and made fr ie nds with everyone, remembering names and family connections of even th e m ost distant kind. Clea was a lifelong learner, and if her body had be en a s sharp to the end as was her mind, she would have lived for some ti me t o come. Her final days were spent surrounded by family members who w ere a ble to express their abiding love for this great woman. She clung t o lif e as long as she could until the pull of Heaven was too strong. Cle a is s urvived by her two sons and a daughter; five sisters, Verla Flick , LuDee n Earl, Lola Cole, Norma Leavitt, Donna Killian (Dennis); two bro thers, B ert Roylance (Zelma) and Jay Roylance (Elaine); along with numer ous grand children and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death b y her parent s; one sister, Grace Pickerd and her husband (Karl); son (Ri chard); and t hree great-grandchildren.

Our family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of the Family Practic e M edical Center, the staff of the emergency workers and Cardiac Care o f St . Alphonsus Hospital, and to the tender care of the staff workers fr om th e Four Rivers Home Health and Hospice who attended to Clea in her l ast fe w weeks on earth. And, last but not least, thanks to Eric and Trac ey Nels on, who provided a new home with needed facilities and tender lov e and ca re for their grandmother during the past two and a half months .
