Dorothy Beckstrand Soelberg 12/6/1925 ~ 6/15/2007 Dorothy Beckstrand Soe l berg passed away peacefully June 15, 2007 with family at her side. Doro th y was born December 6, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Alma Neil Becks tra nd and Kathleen Pettit. She married her sweetheart, Charles L. Soelbe rg , in the Salt Lake Temple August 28, 1947. Dorothy graduated in nursin g f rom LDS Hospital in 1946 and specialized in anesthesia in 1947. She w orke d as a loving nurse anesthetist at LDS Hospital, Primary Children' s Hospi tal, Cottonwood Hospital, and Dixie Medical Center throughout he r adult l ife. Her gentle hands helped bring countless babies into this w orld.
Dorothy served faithfully in many auxiliaries of The Church of Jesus Chr i st of Latter-day Saints as well as serving two full-time missions wit h he r husband. Her greatest joy in life came from helping and serving ot hers . An avid cook and homemaker, she always found time to take homemad e good ies to friends, family, and neighbors. You could always count on D oroth y for food, smiles, and a listening ear. She will be greatly misse d by he r husband, Charlie; and their three children, Kathryn (Joseph) We eks, Cra ig (Corinne) Soelberg, and Cindy (James) Garrett. She has 10 gra ndchildre n, and three great-grandchildren whom she called "the lights o f her life. " She was preceded in death by sisters, Erma Fahrni and Fay e Higginson; a nd her brother, Harold Beckstrand.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2007, 10:30 a.m. in t h e Mt. Olympus 7th Ward chapel, 4407 S. Fortuna Way (3610 South). Frien d s may visit with the family Wednesday from 9-10:15 a.m. prior to servic e s at the church. The family would like to thank HCS Hospice Specialist s f or their loving help and care.
