Deonna Ann Bennett Larsen, beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister, we n t home to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 22, 2013 Her last yea r s were spent at the Fillmore Utah Hospital Long Term Care Center, wher e s he was loved and given excellent care.
Deonna was born May 21, 1932, to Nolan and Della Bond Bennett in Meado w , Utah, the oldest of three children. She graduated from Millard High S ch ool and moved to Salt Lake City where she attended McCune School of Mu sic . She met her husband, Joseph Gale Larsen, in Salt Lake and they wer e mar ried in the Salt Lake Temple on August 21, 1953.
They lived and raised their four children in Salt Lake, where they wer e a ctive in their wards, serving many callings over the years. Deonna wa s a n accomplished pianist and organist. She taught piano lessons and wa s a m other to many as she encouraged and lifted the spirits of her war d family . She took care of her husband for many years as his health dete riorated . He passed away December 16, 1986.
In 1997 she and a daughter and granddaughter moved to Meadow to live i n t he family home. Her years there were enjoyable as she reconnected wit h fa mily and friends and helped raise her granddaughter.
She is survived by children Jaren, Letitia and Cameron of Salt Lake Ci t y and Marcella of Meadow; grandchildren Travis (Laurie) of Syracuse, Ch ri sty and Kyle of Salt Lake City, and Nicole of Monmouth, Oregon; great- gra ndchildren Anna, Kate, Eve, Max and Abby of Syracuse; sister Marlen e (Nea l) of Las Vegas, Nevada. She is preceded in death by her husband , Josep h Gale, parents Nolan and Della Bennett, and brother, Boyd Nola n Bennett.
Funeral services will Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Mead o w Ward Chapel. A Viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 11: 3 0 a m to 1:30 pm at the Meadow Ward Chapel. Interment will be in the Me adow C emetery under the care of Olpin Stevens Funeral Home.
