To all people to whom these presents shall come greeting
Know ye that I Samuel Whipple of Groton in the County of New Londo n & C olony of Connecticut for the consideration of eighteen pounds lawfu l mone y in hand paid do therefor sell grant convey and confirm unto Dani el Kene dy of Voluntown hiirs and assigns forever one certain tract or pa rcel o f land situate in the North Society of Groton in Paquatanock lyin g sout h of the road that goeth to Shingle Point Beginning at the N orth e ast co rner of Mr. James Park's land thence Southerly by said Park' s L ot s ix r ods thence Easterly three rods thence Northerly six rods to th e road firs t mentioned thence to said Parks corner to have and to hold t he said barg ained and granted premises unto the said Daniel Kennedy hi s heirs and ass igns forever and the said Samuel Whipple doth for himsel f and his heirs c ovenant with the said Daniel Kenady his heirs and assig ns as follows tha t at the time and untill the executing of these present s I am the sole ow ner of the above premises and do hereby oblihe mysel f and heirs for eve r hereafter to warrant secure and defend the same unt o the said Daniel Ke nedy his heirs and assigns forever against all lawfu l claims whatsoever I n witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and s eal this 9th day of Ju ly AD 1774.
