- Obituary:
Norma Stoddard Whipple, a beautiful and loving wife, mother, grandmothe r , sister and friend, having passed her earthly sojourn, enduring valian tl y to the end, has slipped peacefully into eternity from The Wentwort h a t East Millcreek Assisted Living Center. The beautiful sunrise as thi s ne wborn baby girl made her debut, brought joy to her parents Dan and J ane S toddard, in Rexburg, Idaho on September 4, 1918 .
Married Kenneth Whipple in 1939, in Bozeman, Montana. Their marriage w a s a love-affair and together they will now resume those vows after bei n g apart 23 years. Throughout the many horizons of each phase of life, o u r Mother gave of her abundant talents and gifts to all who were blesse d t o grace her path. Mother was an ardent Gardener who loved working wit h he r hands. Her harvest of love-grown vegetables found their way to man y a h ome, blessing the lives of those who partook. Legendary dill pickl e maker , was among the many bounties mom canned from her garden. All o f her chil dren's homes are filled with crocheted treasures and mom's cre ations so l ovingly made were bestowed over the years. These will remai n a constant r eminder of those hard-working hands .
As a genuine caregiver to so many throughout her life, mom's greatest lo v e and sacrifice was the 56 years of care, given to our special sister J an ie. This legacy of love, a tapestry woven with patience, long sufferin g a nd dedication, is truly a Christlike attribute mother fully perfected . Ou r mother, friend and confidant always gave of her love unconditional ly an d with every beat of her heart, her angel-like qualities lifted, so othe d and nurtured others. As the sun sets on the last phrase of her mor tal l ife, mom now ventures to a new horizon of a well-deserved rest, mee ting t hose who have anxiously waited for her arrival. We join those in s aying , we love you mom and look to the day we will wrap our arms aroun d you on ce again, draw you close and express our gratitude for you, ou r angel mot her. God gave us a jewel in our crown of life, when he blesse d us with yo u.
Norma is survived by four children, 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandc h ildren, a brother, sisters. Mom is preceded in death by her parents, h e r husband Kenny, a granddaughter, grandson and many loved ones. The fam il y would like to express their gratitude to the caregivers at the Wentw ort h Assisted Living, and for the wonderful Silverado Hospice workers wh o lo ved our mom with every touch and kind words whispered in her ear .
