In my latest book, [Captain John and Sarah Whipple....] on pages 84 an d 8 8, I indicate that John Whipple III sold his father's home lot, whic h Joh n Junior inherited from his father in 1663, to his uncle Col. Josep h Whip ple 21 July 1705. Actually he sold (quitclaimed) the property to h im o n 8 Feb. 1708-9 (according to The Early Records of Providence on pag e 274 .) The 1705 date was an apparent mortgage to Joseph. The records ar e conf using, but I believe this to be the accurate account.
