SOURCE: Email from Charles M. Whipple, Jr., to Weldon Whipple, 18 Jun 20 0 4. Cites Mary's tombstone in Providence's North Burial, situated immedi at ely to the left of Capt. John and Sarah Whipple. The tombstone reads : "I n memory of Mary wife of Capt Charles Bardin youngest daughter of Co l. Jo seph Whipple & Alice his wife died Dec. 8 1733 aged 29 yrs & 8 mos . " Cha rles writes: "Her husband and possible children are not buried th ere [i n the North Burial Ground]. She could have not likely married a Sc ott i n 1724 as he is not mentioned. As she died in 1733 the Scott Childr en bor n later as shown on the genweb could not have been hers."
