The "died young" claim is contradicted by email from Joanne Lahr- Kre ischer to Weldon Whipple, 22 May 1999. She gives this David as the fa the r of Silas Whipple.

When David Whipple (1674-1755) died in New London 30 Oct 1755, Josh u a Hempsted writes in his DIARY: "...old David Whipple died aged 80 odd . " The next day, 31 Oct he writes: "...old Whipple buryed." Also, the N e w London Vital Records name "David" Whipple as Father of Jonathan Whipp l e (who married Elizabeth Dart), disproving the contentions of some wh o na me a "Jonathan Whipple, Sr." married to an Angell as Jonathan (of Ne w Lon don's) parents.

CHILDREN: In Email to Joanne Lahr-Kreischer 26 Jul 1999, Greg Bishop (em a il hiddenom.com) lists four "proposed" children of David. (The first, R eb eckah, is confirmed as David's child by J. Lahr-Kreischer). Greg write s:

Rebeckah, b. roughly 1711, mar. 20 May 1731, John, son of Eleaz a r and Sarah (Dart) Bishop of New London. Note: John Bishop moved from C on necticut to Kings County, Nova Scotia in 1760/61. The Bishop surname a ppe ars prominently in early Horton Township, Kings County, Nova Scotia r ecor ds.
Anthony, b. roughly 1716, mar. Jane Chapel, 30 Dec. 1736. Note : t he Chappel surname appears in early Cornwallis Township, Kings County , No va Scotia records.
Jeremiah, b. roughly 1721, mar. Hannah Beebe, 8 Oct 1741. Note : B eebe surname appears in Nova Scotia.
Elisabeth, b. roughly 1729, mar. Daniel Eames, 21 Feb. 1749. Not e : This could be Elizabeth, d/o Zachariah and Elizabeth Rogers."
