    • "Mary Frew Ellsworth: 'Aunt Mary,' as every one called her, was born i n S cotland, August 27, 1854. She came to Utah with her parents with Davi d Mc Arthur's handcart company in 1856. She came to Payson (Utah) in 1874 . Sh e was the first woman in Payson to manufacture ice cream. She made a nd so ld ice cream for forty years. For many years she was in business o n Mai n Street, and later continued the business at her home. Aunt Mary' s ice c ream became widely known."--Kate Carter
