- Obituary:
Merle Albrechtsen, age 86, passed away peacefully at home with her child r en by her side on November 15, 2015 in Overton, Nevada. She was born Ja nu ary 8. 1929 in McNary, Arizona to John Berry and Gladys Delilah Porter fie ld Brown. On August 22, 1947 she married Rufus Afton Albrechtsen in t he S alt Lake Temple.
Merle grew up in McNary, Salt Lake City, Price, Utah and Farmington, N e w Mexico as her dad’s work with the railroad moved them around. She rai se d her family in Sandy, Utah, then retired to Overton in 1991. She love d A fton and loved raising their children. She was energetic and loved ad vent ure. Always active in the LDS Church, she served faithfully. She enj oye d dancing with her sweetheart with the “52 Dance Club and riding moto rcyc les with the Salt Lake Retreads. She loved traveling, especially o n the m otorcycles to visit the grandchildren. Survivors include two daug hters an d one son: MaryLee (Ed) Flagler of St. George, UT; Cody (Randi ) of McCall , ID; Wendy (Jody) Larsen of Kingman, AZ; 13 grandchildren; 3 9 great gran dchildren; three brothers and one sister: Lafe Brown of St . George, UT; M ary Albrechtsen of Kaysville, UT; Jim (Sandra) Brown an d John (Lorraine ) Brown both of Salt Lake City, UT. She was preceded i n death by her husb and, Afton; one brother, Dee and one sister, Thurza P atterson.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11 a.m. a t t he Overton LDS 2nd Ward Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:3 0 a.m . prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Log andal e Cemetery.
