- Obituary:
Many people are mourning the loss of a great man, husband, father, grand f ather, great-grandfather, and friend. Lafe passed away peacefully at h i s home in American Fork on Monday, June 25, 2018 with his daughters b y th is side.
Lafayette Berry Brown was born November 21, 1926 in St. Johns, Arizon a t o John Berry and Gladys Delilah Porterfield Brown.
He married Agnes Ruth Mathis on June 10, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Templ e . Together, they had four children.
Lafe loved his family, country, and friends. He served in the U.S. Mari n e Corps from 1944-1946 during WWII. He was a BYU alumnus, member of Go o d Sam, Elks Lodge, Timp Marina Boat Club, and the Marine Corps League D et achment, St. George. He loved outdoor recreation, including fishing, b oat ing, and camping.
He is survived by his daughters, Carol Lynne Fitzgerald and Julie Anna E l dridge; daughter-in-law, Lori Kimball Brown; ten grandchildren; and six te en great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his sweetheart, Agnes Rut h ; daughter, SueAnn Castro; and son, Lafe Berry Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018 at L a rkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, w he re a visitation will be held prior to the services from 9:30-10:30 a.m .
