Marietta( McDiffett) Warneke, 84, of Council Grove, passed away Thursda y , September 10, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.
She was born August 17, 1925 to August and Fern (Easter) Glessne r i n Alta Vista. She was raised on a farm north of Alta Vista in the We lcom e Community and attended the Welcome Country School.
Marietta married Glen McDiffett on Feb 14, 1943. He preceded he r i n death in November 1997. She married Clarence "Bub" Warneke on Jun e 28 , 2002.
She worked at the Yahn Nursing Home, and then started working for t h e Country jClub Rest Home, which is now the Council Grove HealthCare Ce nt er. She retired with 30 years of loyal dedicated service to the nursi n g home. She has been employed by USD #41 school district in the luch r oo m since August 2003.
