    • Obituary:
      LaRue Hardy Cain, 'born to be a wife and mother,' passed away graceful l y at the age of 96 on October 29, 2015, surrounded by her adoring famil y . Born July 23, 1919 to Leonard W. and Ethelinda Allred Hardy.

      LaRue married her sweetheart, Howard Cain, on June 1, 1940. They had be e n married 69 years at the time of his passing in 2009. Howard and LaRu e s erved LDS missions to Tonga, Oakland, and Oregon and served togethe r in t he Salt Lake Temple. She loved the wonderful life she had with How ard an d her family.

      LaRue lived a lifetime of service including many teaching and leadersh i p positions in the church. A woman of sterling character, she was the e pi tome of love, kindness, cheerfulness, wisdom and faithfulness. LaRue w a s a counselor and mentor to countless people. However, the eternal monu me nt of her life is her family.

      Howard and LaRue have 6 children: Colleen (Richard-deceased), Sue (Mac-d e ceased), Jeff-deceased (Laraine), Linda (Jack-deceased), Steve (Elaine ) , Mike (Jan), 34 grandchildren, 95 great-grandchildren (with 4 on the w ay ), and 14 great-great-grandchildren, with a total of 155 descendants.

      The family expresses thanks to all the wonderful people of Rocky Mounta i n Hospice who provided tender care and genuine love to our mother f o r t h e last three years. We also thank Sunrise Senior Living of Sand y fo r their kindness and care in the last two months of her life.

      Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, November 7th 2015 , a t the LDS Chapel located at 6350 South Rodeo Lane, Murray, Utah. A vi ewin g will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 AM, prior to the service. Intermen t wil l be at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah.

      In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the LDS General Mission a ry Fund.
