  During the revolution the family had to evacuate to El Paso. While in t h e refugee camp, Elda got sick from contaminated milk. The doctor advis e d they take her back home. She died after returning home. Basil remembe re d her lying in the back of the wagon with pennies on her eyes. He wa s ver y sad. How he loved little Elda.
