Edison Toone Succumbs to Injuries- Death came last Thursday to Edison To o ne, 45, former resident of Morgan County, who was injured on October 2 2 w hen he was thrown from a horse at Croydon during deer hunting season . Mr . Toone had been confined to a hospital since that time, unable t o move f rom the neck down. Mr. Toone was a member of the bishopric of t he LDS Ka nesville ward. He had served as superintendent of the Sunday S chool an d scoutmaster in the Huntsville ward, where he resided for two y ears. H e filled a two year mission in the Northwestern States (Mission ) for th e LDS church. He was also a member of the Weber County Sheriff' s Mounte d Posse.
Mr. Toone was born, Oct. 31, 1909, in Croydon, a son of John W. a n d Hattie Grover Toone. On Feb. 20, 1935, he married Josephine Carlso n Ha ll in the LDS Salt Lake Temple. Surviving are his widow and three s ons : Wilford E. (Bill/Billy) Toone, E. Steven Toone and Richard H. Toon e, K anesville; the following brothers and sisters: C. C. Toone, Morgan ; Fran k W. Toone, Mrs. William L. (Theda) Myres and Mrs. L.B. (Veda) Nap per, Og den; Joseph W. Toone, Croydon; Hyrum C. Toone, Kamas; Mrs. Glen R . (Thelm a) Nelson, Draper.
Funeral services were held Saturday in the LDS Lakeview ward, Roy , w ith Bishop Lawrence Watkins officiating .
Speakers at the services were Bishop Ted London of the Croyden war d , Rulon S. Wood, captain of the Weber County Sheriff's Posse; Presiden t R ulon Peterson, former Bishop Green of the Kanesville ward and now a m embe r of the Lakeview High Council, and Bishop Watkins .
Music for the services consisted of a solo by a cousin of Mr. Toone ' s, Spencer Toone of Carey, Idaho, who sang "The Lord's Prayer;" a due t o f "O, My Father," by two members of the Kanesville ward; and two numb er s of George T. Frost, "Friend of Mine," and "Going Home." Interment wa s i n the Croydon cemetery where the grave was dedicated by Sam Hopkin , a mis sionary companion and friend of Mr. Toone.
