Ralph Woolley Chamberlain, 81, died in Salt Lake City, Utah, November 2 2 , 1995, of cardiac arrest.
He was born July 17, 1914 in Kanab, Utah, to Israel Hoyt and Ella Wooll e y Chamberlain. He was raised in Kanab. He served an LDS mission to th e Ce ntral States. He married Helen Berkhausen Franke of Salt Lake City i n th e Salt Lake LDS Temple, June 8, 1939. They have resided in Salt Lak e Cit y since 1940.He retired from Filtrol Chemical Company in 1976. He w as a s killed mechanic and millwright.
He was always active in the LDS Church. Services include bishopric of t h e Jordan Park Ward and High Council in the Cannon Stake. He was in char g e of canning projects, fund raising and Senior Citizen activities.
He and Helen loved to travel and enjoyed numerous trips with friends a n d relatives to the various parts of the world. They always enjoyed the i r activities with the Southern and Central States Missionary groups, a n d their "Kanab Gang."
He loved "The Gospel" and found great joy through financial and moral su p port to his (six thus far) missionary grandsons. He was generous with t im e and talents, enjoyed working in his yard and garden, sharing produc e wi th friends and family. He was always ready to help his family and fr iend s with building projects, mechanical problems. His family and friend s wil l remember his loving care and devotion for his sweetheart, Helen , durin g these past several difficult years of her life.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Gary Franke (Judy Murdock), Sout h J ordan; Ronald Ralph (Cheryl Watson), Park City; and a daughter, Caro l (Ma rvin Boase), West Valley City. He has 11 grandsons, four granddaugh ters , and three great-granddaughters.
He is also survived by a sister, Lucille (Garn Perkins) of Kanab, Utah ; b rothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Helen Franke; Ray and Louise Fra nke , Salt Lake; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death b y hi s parents; a brother and sister, Hoyt Chamberlain (Kathryn), and Har riet t Jones (Uriah).
Services will be held at the Cannon 6th Ward, 934 West Fremont Avenue (1 1 00 So.), Salt Lake City. Friends may call at the Evans & Early Mortuar y , 574 East 1st South, Sunday 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday at the chapel, 11 a .m . until time of services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
