- Obituary:
Richard A. Fuller, age 68, of Erie, passed away on Friday, September 2 9 , 2017 at his residence. He was born in Erie on May 23, 1949, a son o f th e late Arthur Fuller and Anna May Pogue Fuller Vogt.
He attended Wattsburg High School. He served in the United States Mari n e Corps, 4th Division and was a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal, Na ti onal Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Me dal , Combat Action Ribbon and Rifle Marksmanship Ribbon, while serving f ro m 1967 to 1969. Throughout his life, he worked as a contractor, runnin g a nd operating his own business. He was a member of the American Legion , El mer C. Carrier Post #365.
Richard enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed time spe n t with his family, especially his grandkids. He had a huge sense of hum o r that set him apart from everybody else and was always laughing and jo ki ng. He loved his pets dearly and gave a new meaning to “man’s best fri end ” with every dog he met.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ar t hur and Robert Fuller; a step-sister, Joan Vogt.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kathy Zmyslinski Fuller, of Eri e ; four sons, Richard Fuller, Jr., Bob Fuller, wife Jen, Frank Fuller, w if e Andrea and Christopher Fuller; three step-sons, Alex Cessna, wife Lo ri , Bill Cessna, wife Sue and Scott Cessna, Fiancée Erin; 19 grandchildr e n and four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Jean Overton, husband How ar d, of Tennessee, Nancy Woodcock, husband Ken, of Wattsburg, Bonnie All en , husband Chuck, of Georgia and Dianna Louis, husband Tom, of Erie; th re e brothers, James Fuller, wife Lynn, George Fuller, wife Lori, all o f Eri e and Elmer Fuller, wife Arlene, of Lincolnville, Pa.; sister-in-la w, Kat hleen Fuller and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pine A v enue Branch, 845 E. 38th St., Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. unt i l the time of a funeral service there at 8:30 p.m., with military honor s.
