- Obituary:
LeRoy Edson Burgess, 96, of Ellsworth, died Sunday, September 25, 201 6 a t his home.
Le Roy was born on December 29, 1919 in the town of Rock Elm, the so n o f Claude and Ina (Betterly) Burgess. He married Helen Eggenberger o f Plu m City, on April 19, 1947. Helen died in 1968.
He later married Audrey Rice.
LeRoy worked for Earls Repair Shop for many years in Oak Center, MN, a n d retired in 1982 from the Pierce County Highway Department after man y ye ars of service. Following retirement he owned and operated Roy’s Fix it Sh op.
LeRoy is survived by his wife, Audrey, Ellsworth.
Three children: Donna Tutor, Diane (Steven) Bartlett, and Kevin (Conni e ) Burgess, all of Ellsworth. 12 Grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren ; si x great-great-grandchildren.
Son in-law Neal Harris, Ellsworth, WI.
He was preceded in death by his wife Helen, daughter Kathy Harris, paren t s, sister Willa Anderson and an infant brother.
Funeral services for LeRoy will be at 11:00am, Thursday, September 29, 2 0 16 at English Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, WI. Burial will be in the Ple as ant Hill Cemetery, Rock Elm, WI.
Visitation will be from 4-8pm on Wednesday at the Hill Funeral Home, Ell s worth, and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers memorial are preferred to American Cancer Society
