Serge Ballif Woodruff passed away May 12, 2020 at home in Herriman, UT B o rn in Salt Lake City, UT March 20, 1929 to Wilford Owen Woodruff and Ev el yn Ballif Woodruff. Siblings Truman, Jacquelyn, Nathan, and Bruce. H e gra duated from East High. He served in the Eastern States Mission 1949 -195 0 of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was drafte d int o the US Army 1951 - 1953 – CIC, stationed in Philadelphia. He marr ied Ma rilyn Martin, October 7, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple and togethe r they r aised five children. They lived the philosophy that “eternity i s now.” H e graduated from the University of Utah, BA and MBA. They move d to Glenda le/La Crescenta, CA where he established a successful caree r in the banki ng/savings & loan business. He would say that “banking isn ’t about money ; it’s about people.” Along with his family, he prioritize d a life of ser vice in the Church; serving as a Bishop twice, Counselo r in two Stake Pre sidencies, Tennessee Nashville Mission President 199 0 - 1993, and Seale r in the Los Angeles and San Diego Temples. His consi stency and fidelit y to principle and faith were hallmarks of his great c haracter. After hi s wife passed in 1998, he married Marilynn Jones Maw i n 1999. They serve d two missions together in the Kona Hawaii Temple an d the Missionary Depa rtment. He then served many years as a Sealer in th e St. George temple. T hey both considered this the “dessert” portion o f life. Serge spent his l ife interested in other people, loved getting t o know people and was love d in return. Preceded in death by his wife Mar ilyn Martin Woodruff and da ughter, Wendy (Blaine) Kellogg. Survived by h is wife Marilynn Maw Woodruf f, sister Jacquelyn Clements, his brother Wi lford Bruce Woodruff, his chi ldren, Samuel M. (Cherri), Amy (Richard) Be rnard, Matthew M. (Lisa), an d David M. (Lynnae) as well as 27 grandchild ren and 77 (and counting) gre at-grandchildren.
