- Obituary:
Salt Lake City, UT-Paul Stott, 95, passed away Sept. 6, 2013. He was born March 6, 1918 to William and Arlie Grant Stott in Duchene, Utah. He grew up in the Uinta Basin and graduated from Roosevelt High School. Paul spent time in the CCC Camp in the Soapstone Area. He joined the Army and spent time in North Africa and the Mediterranean area. He was honorably discharged Dec. 2, 1945.
Paul married Rose Newbold December 1, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. Paul was an active member of the LDS Church and faithfully served in many callings.
He spent 25 years as a Service Station Operator and Mechanic. He attended the U of U and graduated with a degree in English Literature at the age of 71. Paul and Rose spent ten wonderful years managing the PMAA Police Target Range and then he was a substitute teacher well into his 80's.
Paul lived life energetically, always making friends and lifting others. He was a wonderful husband and father and will be missed by those who know him.
Paul is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rose; his children Larry (Carol) Stott, Mary (Jeff) Bernard, and Gayle (Dale) Hampton; 12 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren; sisters, June Hayden and Vera Millet. He is preceded in death by his father and mother; brothers, Grant, Glen, Mark, Luke, Arden and Frank; and sister, Ruth Holmes.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Mt. View Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South. A viewing will be held at the same location prior to services from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Online condolences www.memorialutah.com
